Job description
We're building THE next big social app in a startup-minded squad within Dailymotion, and we need a technical leader to take us to the next level.
You'll be leading a team of 3 Android engineers, 3 iOS engineers, working closely with 2 Python backend developers, QA, Design, and Product to create an experience used by millions of users.
This is not a pure management role. We're looking for someone who is still deeply connected to the craft, able to code, review architecture, and technically challenge the team every day. Think 60% leadership, 40% hands-on. If you've thrived in high-growth startups or scale-ups, shipped consumer apps to millions of users, and you still get excited by a clean architecture or a well-optimized render pipeline, this role was written for you.
Your Mission
- Own the delivery of the product vision from technical strategy to day-to-day execution
- Make key technical decisions, balancing innovation, velocity, and tech debt in a high-growth environment
- Lead, mentor, and grow your mobile engineering team, fostering extreme ownership and cross-functional collaboration
- Stay hands-on: review code, challenge architectural choices, and set the technical bar alongside the team
- Establish clear performance objectives and provide guidance to ensure alignment with business and product goals
- Continuously improve how we build: workflows, tooling, processes, and engineering culture
- Drive AI integration opportunities to enhance user experience and product innovation
- Scale the team as the product grows, building a world-class mobile engineering organization, * Manager Interview with Antoine, your future manager (45 min): Deep dive into the role requirements, assess your technical background and problem-solving approach, and challenge your skills through concrete scenarios
- Technical Case Study (2 hour) : Work on a take-home case study followed by a presentation to Raphaël and a team member, this gives you a chance to showcase your technical thinking and understand what you'd be working on, while helping us evaluate the fit with our needs
- Leadership Interview with N+2 (1 hour) : Discuss long-term career goals, understand how this role fits into Dailymotion's broader strategy, and explore growth opportunities within the organization
Requirements
- Proven track record building and scaling high-traffic B2C consumer apps (social, media, or entertainment), with millions of active users and real product impact
- Startup or scale-up DNA: you've navigated fast iteration cycles, ambiguity, and aggressive growth targets; you know what "moving fast without breaking things" actually means
- Proven experience leading both iOS and Android teams in product-driven, high-velocity environments
- Still deeply technical: you can roll up your sleeves, contribute to the codebase, and meaningfully challenge your engineers on architecture, performance, and trade-offs
- Strong product and business mindset: you think in terms of user impact, retention, and engagement, not just engineering tickets
- Data-driven leadership: you make decisions based on metrics, analytics, and business outcomes
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Design, QA, and Backend
- Fluent in English / French is a plus
Nice to Have
- Expertise in streaming video, media frameworks, and real-time content delivery
- Experience with AI/ML integration in mobile applications
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks and conversion optimization
- Active involvement in mobile engineering communities or open-source contributions
