Job description

Forward Deployed Engineer | Node.js, TypeScript, APIs, Integrations, Full-Stack | £100k-£150k + Equity | London (Onsite) - YC InsureTech

Build and deploy AI-powered systems directly into some of the world's largest insurers. This is an opportunity to join a high-growth, AI-native startup redefining how insurance claims are processed. Combining AI automation with human oversight to deliver faster, more reliable outcomes at scale.

Backed by top-tier investors and already working with major global insurers, the company is scaling rapidly and hiring engineers who want to build real systems, not just internal tools.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll sit at the intersection of software engineering and customer delivery. Building integrations, APIs, and systems that connect enterprise clients directly into the platform.

This is a highly hands-on role where 70-80% of your time is spent building new systems from scratch, including APIs, data pipelines, and integration layers, with the remaining time working directly with client stakeholders to scope, deliver, and present solutions.

You'll also contribute to lightweight frontend components (portals, onboarding flows) and work closely with internal teams to ensure integrations are robust, scalable, and aligned with operational needs.

Requirements

They're looking for engineers with 2-7 years of experience who have strong backend or full-stack skills, ideally in the Node.js / TypeScript ecosystem, and experience building and shipping features end-to-end. Exposure to APIs, data integration, and distributed systems is key.

You'll also be comfortable communicating with stakeholders, explaining technical concepts clearly, and operating in a fast-paced environment where ownership is expected.

Experience in high-growth startups, fintech, or regulated environments is highly beneficial.

This role is fully onsite in central London (5 days per week), working closely with the founding team and early engineering group (8 engineers). You'll have direct exposure to customers, rapid responsibility, and the opportunity to shape both product and processes from an early stage.

Benefits & conditions

The role offers £100k-£150k base + competitive equity, alongside the chance to work on high-impact systems used in real-world enterprise environments.

If you're looking for a role where you can build, own, and directly impact customers from day one, this is a rare opportunity to do exactly that.
