Job description

We are seeking a skilled Epic Operational Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize Epic database environments including Operational Database (ODB), Clarity, and Caboodle. The ideal candidate will ensure data integrity, performance, and availability while supporting reporting, analytics, and operational workflows across the organization., * Administer and support Epic databases including ODB, Clarity, and Caboodle

  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning
  • Manage database upgrades, patches, and Epic version releases
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA)
  • Support ETL processes, data loads, and data validation activities
  • Collaborate with Epic application teams, reporting teams, and infrastructure teams
  • Maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Optimize SQL queries and database structures for reporting and analytics
  • Provide on-call support and resolve production issues in a timely manner
  • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, preferably in healthcare IT
  • Hands-on experience with Epic ODB, Clarity, and/or Caboodle
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational databases
  • Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes
  • Understanding of Epic data models and reporting structures
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with Windows/Linux server environments
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
