Job description
We are looking for a Product Owner to serve as the critical bridge between our customers, business stakeholders, and engineering team. You will own the product backlog, define what gets built and in what order, and ensure that every sprint delivers measurable value to the wealth management professionals we serve.
This is not a traditional PO role at a large enterprise. At WealthyMinds AI, you will be deeply involved in shaping product strategy, conducting user research, and working hand-in-hand with designers and engineers in a fast-paced startup environment. You will have real ownership and a direct line to leadership.
What You Will Do
-
Own and prioritize the product backlog, translating business goals and user needs into clearly defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
-
Partner with the CEO, CTO, and design team to define the product roadmap and ensure alignment between company strategy and sprint execution.
-
Conduct user research including interviews with financial advisors, RIAs, and TAMP operators to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities.
-
Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews, ensuring the engineering team has clear context and priorities at all times.
-
Define and track product KPIs and success metrics, using data to inform prioritization decisions and measure feature impact.
-
Collaborate closely with engineers to scope AI-powered features (LLM integrations, intelligent workflows, automated reporting) and manage technical trade-offs.
-
Write clear product requirements documents, wireframe annotations, and workflow specifications that minimize ambiguity for the development team.
-
Act as the voice of the customer internally, advocating for user experience quality and ensuring the product solves real problems in wealth management.
-
Coordinate with sales and customer success teams to gather feedback loops, manage beta programs, and support go-to-market efforts for new features.
Requirements
-
5+ years of product management or product ownership experience, with at least 2 years working on B2B SaaS or enterprise software products.
-
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and hands-on experience running sprints, writing user stories, and managing backlogs with tools like Jira, Linear, or Shortcut.
-
Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured, actionable product requirements.
-
Comfort working with technical teams building AI/ML-powered features; you do not need to code, but you should understand LLMs, APIs, and data pipelines at a conceptual level.
-
Excellent communication and facilitation skills: you can align engineering, design, and business stakeholders around shared priorities.
-
A data-informed mindset: you use metrics, user feedback, and experimentation to guide decisions rather than intuition alone.
-
Bias toward action and ownership: you thrive in environments where you wear multiple hats and move fast.
Nice to Have
-
Domain experience in wealth management, financial planning, fintech, or investment technology.
-
Familiarity with portfolio management systems, custodial platforms, or financial advisor workflows.
-
Experience working at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B) where you helped establish product processes from scratch.
-
Background in UX research or design thinking methodologies.
-
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification.
