Job description

As the CSRR Special Project Lead, the candidate will provide direct support to the government ISEA Lead with focus on critical system test events (internal and external) across the Navy enterprise environment. Specific responsibilities will include the following:

  • Directing and overseeing all special system testing projects within the ITA Lab, ensuring seamless execution of test events and driving future capability development
  • Developing special project test schedules, allocating critical resources, and mitigating technical risks to ensure all special projects are delivered on time and within mission scope
  • Authoring, reviewing, and standardizing critical test documentation and technical manuals across the CSRR system lifecycle to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Leading comprehensive pre and post installation testing and quality assurance phases during critical CSRR modernization initiatives
  • Directing data collection and performing advanced trend analysis on operational space performance within the ITA Lab to drive data-informed continuous improvement
  • Providing out-brief post testing reports, analysis, and recommendations to stakeholders and IPT leadership for test events and exercises
  • Providing technical guidance and cross-training to junior engineers and lab technicians to maintain high standards of operational excellence
  • Managing and providing advanced technical escalation support for the Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) and its integrated components
  • Leading the modernization and strategic planning of the lab communications simulator (SIM-STIM) to accurately replicate current and future Submarine Communication Watch Floor Systems capabilities
  • Overseeing and executing critical software upgrades and comprehensive system backups across all Windows and Red Hat Linux CSRR architectures as needed
  • Managing virtualization infrastructure, including software deployments and disaster recovery protocols for VMWare components supporting SIM-STIM operations as needed
  • Serving as the primary liaison and technical advisor to the CSRR Multi-Reconfigurable Training System (MRTS) team, ensuring training systems mirror operational realities
  • Maintaining mission readiness for required travel, including potential at-sea events, to provide on-site technical leadership and project support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any technical discipline - preferable Engineering\
  • Five (5) years of direct work experience with C4ISR or similar program/projects
  • Direct work experience should include design/development, production, installation, and test & evaluation of C5ISR systems onboard United States (US) Naval Submarines
  • Ashore training facilities also highly desirable
  • Experience in systems such as CSRR (ADNS, DMR, Mini-DAMA, SATCOM, SLVR, HF, UHF, SHF, EHF, etc) key to this position
  • Experience shall also include supervising project personnel and/or team, scheduling work, developing documents and presentations. Experience may be achieved simultaneously; individual shall have knowledge of DoD procurement policies and procedures, and individual shall have written and oral communications abilities commensurate with this leadership role
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office products.

Desired Skills

  • Real time submarine experience to include understanding the mission, CONOPS, and radio room functions
  • Experience with systems engineering and design/integration of military Command, Control, Communications, and Computer (C4) and Cyber Systems, specifically for the US Navy
