Job description
We are hiring for a Tier 3 / Senior Systems Engineer that will play a critical role in serving as the technical escalation point, project leader, and subject-matter expert across our client environments.
This role goes beyond ticket resolution. A Tier 3 technician at Justice IT owns complex problems end-to-end, leads infrastructure and cloud projects, mentors Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians, and works directly with clients to design, implement, and harden reliable, secure systems.
You'll be trusted to make sound technical decisions, communicate clearly with both clients and internal teams, and help elevate the overall technical maturity of our service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the final escalation point for complex or high-impact technical issues
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across servers, networks, security systems, and cloud platforms
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding impact, timelines, risks, and next steps
- Advanced administration and troubleshooting of:
- Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, file/print, basic virtualization)
- Microsoft 365 / Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive
- Security policies, conditional access, MFA, and hybrid environments
- Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware and/or Hyper-V
- Perform server migrations, upgrades, snapshots, and recovery operations
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls and VPNs (SonicWall, Meraki, FortiGate, etc.)
- Diagnose routing, switching, VLANs, Wi-Fi, DNS, and performance issues in SMB environments
- Mentor and guide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians
Requirements
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems methodically and independently
- Deep understanding of MSP service delivery, escalation workflows, and documentation
- Advanced experience with:
- Windows Server & Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 & Entra ID
- Virtualized environments
- Networking fundamentals and firewall platforms
- Comfort working directly with clients and managing expectations
- Strong security awareness and adherence to documented procedures
