Job description
CNF Technologies is seeking a Software/Cloud Architect to support the design and management of enterprise-level software architectures and cloud computing strategies in support of DoD mission requirements within highly secure, classified environments. This role is responsible for identifying and defining high-level technical specifications for application design, cloud adoption, and the seamless integration of software systems into cohesive, mission-capable solutions. The ideal candidate develops comprehensive technology roadmaps, reference architectures, and interface specifications tailored to cloud- and hybrid environments, leveraging platforms such as AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Google Cloud Platform, and IBM Cloud., * Manage high-level technical specs for application design, cloud computing strategy/adoption, and seamless software integration to satisfy requirements.

Operate/maintain cloud-based infrastructure to include provision/configure resources, monitor performance, ensure security/compliance.

Develop/maintain technical documentation such as system architecture diagrams, design/interface specs, cloud migration guides.

Analyze mission needs and translate to scalable architectures incorporating emerging tech (serverless, AI/ML integration, edge computing).

Provide cloud/cloud security guidance to leadership; conduct risk/trade studies; ensure architectures align with DoD frameworks.

Collaborate with developers, security, and stakeholders for governance in classified environments.
Requirements

IT/software engineering, with 5 years in software/cloud architecture for secure/government environments (DoD/IC ).

Experience designing/implementing cloud architectures in classified networks (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP Government clouds, hybrid setups).

Proven leadership in large-scale software systems, including microservices, APIs, container orchestration, and integration with legacy DoD systems.

Familiarity with DoD cloud environments (high preponderance of cloud infra), RMF accreditation, STIG implementation, and zero-trust principles., * Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (no exceptions; no interim clearances).

U.S. Citizenship required.

Full-time on-site work in classified facility.

DoDM 8140.03 compliance for DCWF 628: Foundational qualification via approved cert/training/education/experience ( 70% core KSATs, e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional Gov, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CCSP, TOGAF, SecurityX/CASP+).

Proficiency in cloud security (zero trust, CUI handling), architecture tools, and DoD policies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field from accredited institution.
