Job description

The Principal Cloud Engineer serves as the technical leader for Comagine Health's cloud platform architecture and infrastructure engineering practices. This role is responsible for defining cloud architecture standards, guiding infrastructure automation strategy, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of enterprise cloud environments.

This leader partners closely with engineering, security, and IT leadership to establish platform standards, mentor engineers, and drive initiatives that enhance automation, reliability, and operational efficiency across the organization's cloud ecosystem., Cloud Architecture & Strategy (30%)

  • Define and lead architecture for scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure across enterprise platforms
  • Establish and enforce cloud architecture standards and best practices

Infrastructure Automation (20%)

  • Establish infrastructure automation standards including Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), deployment pipelines, and configuration management
  • Drive consistency and efficiency through automation frameworks

Observability & Reliability Engineering (15%)

  • Design and implement observability frameworks to support system reliability and proactive monitoring
  • Partner with teams to improve incident response and system performance

Platform Modernization (15%)

  • Lead modernization initiatives including container orchestration, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture patterns
  • Advance adoption of modern platform engineering practices

Security & Compliance (10%)

  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure infrastructure meets regulatory, compliance, and cloud security standards

Leadership & Mentorship (5%)

  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across cloud engineering initiatives

Documentation & Standards (5%)

  • Develop architecture documentation, platform standards, and operational guidelines

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)
  • 10+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure architectures
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification
  • Terraform Associate Certification or equivalent
  • Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD, * Advanced Communication
