Job description
Job Duties: Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products. Set operational specifications and formulate and/or analyze software requirements. Work with a team of Software Engineers to enable models, libraries, and applications for GPUs in both on-prem and cloud environments. Push the boundaries of efficiency and performance to enable and optimize the software ecosystem for the next generation of GPU computational accelerators. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming
Requirements
as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computing, Electronic Engineering, or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computing, Electronic Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Position requires four (4) years of experience in the following:
· C, C++, and Python;
· GPU kernel programming using CUDA, HIP, or OpenCL;
· Open-source software development;
· Linux or containerized environments;
· Object oriented design, data structures, and multi-threading;
· GPU-focused code optimization or software performance profiling;
· Software debugging in macOS, Linux, or Unix; and
· Git.
