Job description
Oracle DBA is responsible for developing and maintaining the Oracle database environments for all project tasks. This is done through coordinating systems infrastructure activities as well as to developing, implementing and maintaining scalable database standards, procedures and controls. The DBA is also responsible for database back-up and recovery verification, performance measuring, capacity planning and automating DBA tasks. Duties include, but are not limited to: Recoverability - Creating and testing Backups Integrity - Verifying or helping to verify data integrity Security - Defining and/or implementing access controls to the data Availability - Ensuring maximum uptime Performance - Ensuring maximum performance Development and testing support - Helping programmers and engineers to efficiently utilize the database. Take initiative to proactively identify and mitigate project risks Multi-task and adapt to a fluid work environment, as well as work with minimal supervision. Ability to work alone with minimal direction and as part of a team.
Requirements
Proven Oracle Database Administration experience in production (5+ years), including installing, patching, upgrading Oracle databases (11g experience a must) Strong hands-on experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service and optimum storage capability, including: query optimization, init.ora configuration, memory optimization, tablespace storage optimization, table/index analysis, tuning long-running processes. Fluent with Oracle 11G and RAC environment and configuration. Fluent with RMAN backup and configuration and Dataguard setup Fluent with ASM. Fluent in SQL and PL/SQL. Hands-on experience with GRID control
Hands-on experience with OBIEE installation and maintenance Experience with OLAP and ODI a plus
Excellent communication skills and strong documentation skills. Experience with MSSQL and MySQL, a plus. Fluent in Unix, shell scripting and some Unix/Linux system administration Self-starter with initiative and desire to learn Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
