Job description
As a machine learning engineer, you build the core components that power our GenAI solutions. You work on everything from ingestion to inference, across scalable cloud environments. Together with our consultants and clients, you turn business needs into smart, usable and production-ready systems.
You will:
Design, build and deploy AI-based applications in the Microsoft Azure cloud
Set up infrastructure using containers, APIs and serverless components
Preprocess, chunk and structure unstructured data for optimal use in prompts and context injection
Configure and manage vector databases such as Pinecone or Azure AI Search
Implement retrieval-augmented generation flows using vector databases and embedding models
Develop orchestration logic for multi-step agents and tool-using language models
Monitor system performance, latency, accuracy and cost
Apply data privacy and security best practices across all layers
Work closely with AI consultants and clients to solve real problems
Explore new GenAI frameworks and contribute to our engineering standards
Adopt AI-tools such as Cursor and MCP's to enhance your productivity The kind of Rebel we are looking for
Requirements

- A degree in AI, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field
- Strong Python skills and experience/interest in building end-to-end applications
- A good understanding of machine learning principles and data analysis
- Familiarity with LLM frameworks such as LangChain
- Understanding of embedding models and how vector search fits into retrieval-based systems
- Working knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure, GCP or AWS
- Fluent in Dutch and English
