Job description
As an IT Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and reliability of Plum's daily IT operations. Working closely under the guidance of our Senior IT Administrator, you will be the "boots on the ground" ensuring our team stays productive and our systems remain secure., * 1. Systems & Identity Management *
- Identity & Access: Manage core identity stack using Google Workspace as our primary Identity Provider.
- Device Management Administration: Oversee device enrollment, policy enforcement, and security patching via JumpCloud.
- SaaS Management: Act as the primary administrator for Slack and Jira, managing permissions, workflows, and integrations.

- Support & Operations
- Provide high-quality 1st and 2nd level support for hardware and software issues.
- Own the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring equipment is provisioned, accounts are secured, and assets are tracked.
- Maintain and troubleshoot meeting room hardware (Zoom/Google Meet Rooms, Owls, or similar) to ensure seamless hybrid collaboration.
- Network Admin: Configure and manage office network infrastructure, including switches, WAPs, and firewalls.
- Maintenance: Perform regular audits and firmware updates on all infrastructure hardware., + Security Best Practices: Act as the primary advocate for IT and security standards; ensure all systems and workflows follow industry best practices to protect company data and maintain a "security-first" culture.
- Access Control: Implement Least Privilege by ensuring users only have the permissions necessary for their role; use RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) to standardize permissions and enforce strong MFA/Authentication across all platforms.
- Vulnerability Management: Monitor for security flaws in software and hardware; manage the automated patching of Operating Systems and high-risk apps.
Requirements
You'll handle essential technical support, manage the lifecycle of our hardware and software, and contribute to the successful rollout of new IT projects. This role is perfect for a proactive problem-solver and enjoys hands-on troubleshooting who has a few years of experience and is looking to grow their technical expertise in a global environment., + 2-4 years of experience in a dedicated IT support or systems administration role.
- Platform Expertise: Proven experience managing Google Workspace and JumpCloud (or equivalent MDM).
- Atlassian: Deep understanding of Jira administration (projects, permissions, and schemes).
- Networking Fundamentals: Strong grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and experience hands-on with networking hardware (e.g., Ubiquiti, Fortigate).
- Hardware Knowledge: Comfortable repairing or upgrading Mac and Windows laptops.
- The "Helper" Mentality: Solve issues and educate-train users.
- Autonomy: Comfortable working independently but know exactly when to escalate a critical issue.
- Adaptability: Handling a routine laptop setup to an urgent network outage without losing your cool.
- Documentation First: (new policies,procedures,trainings etc.)
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Bonus points for industry-recognized certifications.
- At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in an IT support role..
- Deep understanding of IT principles, standards, and best practices.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle IT challenges.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Stellar communication and interpersonal skills to drive IT initiatives and engage stakeholders.
- Capacity to effectively prioritise and oversee multiple projects concurrently.
