Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Architect to join a leading technology consultancy delivering large-scale transformation programmes across both public and private sector clients.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping data architecture on complex, high-profile engagements, working with modern cloud technologies and distributed systems.

Role Responsibilities

  • Define and lead data architecture across end-to-end programmes
  • Develop data strategies, data models, and integration and migration approaches
  • Design scalable solutions across cloud and distributed platforms
  • Establish architectural standards, principles, and governance frameworks
  • Work closely with client stakeholders to understand current systems and define future-state architecture
  • Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and support delivery
  • Mentor and develop junior team members

Requirements

  • Strong background in data architecture, including strategy, modelling, and integration
  • Experience designing solutions on Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of big data and distributed systems
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Ability to be hands-on when required using technologies such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Strong understanding of both structured and unstructured data design
  • Experience leading teams and engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Eligibility Requirements

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must:

  • Be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)
  • Be a UK citizen
  • Have a minimum of 5 years continuous UK residency
