Job description
As a Software Ecosystem Architect within the Client and Graphics organization, you will provide technical leadership in defining the longterm software architecture that underpins nextgeneration Client and Graphics products. This role operates at the intersection of software, hardware, and ecosystem strategy, shaping multiyear software direction and architectural foundations to enable differentiated consumer experiences across PC, Gaming, and AIdriven workloads., As a senior technical authority, you will serve as a key technical interface to strategic customers and ecosystem partners, engaging in forwardlooking discussions that influence software direction, platform capabilities, and ecosystem readiness. You will collaborate closely with hardware and software architects across AMD to drive alignment, identify architectural tradeoffs, and address software and systemlevel bottlenecks impacting performance, scalability, and enduser experiences., * Define and drive the technical software architecture and longterm software direction across the Client and Graphics product portfolio, aligned with multiyear strategic objectives and informed by market inflections and competitive analysis.
- Define, document, and evolve software architectural requirements that inform multiyear product roadmaps and longterm IP planning.
- Partner closely with software and hardware architects across AMD to translate strategic intent into concrete architectural requirements and cohesive software roadmaps.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for strategic customer engagements, shaping forwardlooking software initiatives and influencing longterm ecosystem and platform direction.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify and address software and systemlevel bottlenecks impacting performance, scalability, and enduser experiences across diverse workloads.
- Lead software architecture planning for AIdriven experiences, working closely with the Windows ecosystem and broader platform partners to ensure alignment and technical readiness., AMD may use Artificial Intelligence to help screen, assess or select applicants for this position. - Excels at collaborating across hardware, software, and architecture teams, influencing both software and systemlevel architectural decisions for nextgeneration Client and Graphics products.
- Demonstrates a systemlevel mindset with the ability to translate strategic intent into concrete architectural direction and scalable software foundations.
- Serves as a trusted technical authority in customer and partner engagements, able to shape forwardlooking discussions and influence ecosystem direction through technical credibility.
- Brings a longterm perspective, balancing nearterm technical decisions with multiyear architectural, IP, and ecosystem considerations.
- Communicates complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences, including senior technical leaders and executive stakeholders., * Deep technical background in systems architecture or advanced software engineering roles, with demonstrated experience operating at platform or system level.
- Handson experience with the Windows ecosystem and AMD software technologies, including GPU and compute software stacks such as Open GPU, ROCm, etc.
- Proven expertise in defining and influencing multiyear architectural strategies, including longterm IP planning and software roadmap development.
- Experience with consumer AI software ecosystems and AIdriven user experiences, with an understanding of architectural requirements across diverse workloads.
- Strong familiarity with PC and Gaming silicon, system design, and associated software ecosystems.
- Track record of working across hardware and software boundaries to identify architectural tradeoffs and drive technically sound, forwardlooking solutions.

- Bachelors / Masters / PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering
