In this role, you will be assessing the ability to deploy and execute Modeling and Simulation (M&S) software in containerized and automated environments potentially including but not limited to on-premise clouds, Kubernetes environments, or public clouds (AWS, Azure, etc). Enhanced Focus Areas: This position specifically emphasizes engineering the approach for executing M&S software in a DevSecOps environment. As a Software Systems Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: * Developing containerization and deployment pipelines for M&S software.
- Capture requirements for existing MS&A tools like AFRL's AFSIM, or SMDC's EADSIM to execute in a cloud/containerized environment
- Automate provisioning and configuration of build/test environments for Linux and Windows.
- Test and benchmark the execution of software in a DevSecOps environment
- Prepare and present reports, briefings, and conclusions
- Brief and interact with senior-level officers (i.e., GO/FLAG) and senior civilians
Requirements
- Lead requirements development and documentation for distributed M&S architectures Job Requirements * U.S. Citizenship * A Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related STEM field (master's degree highly preferred)
- 5+ years software engineering, networking engineering, or infrastructure engineering including hardware/software integration
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: Software engineering Cloud architecture Network and IT systems engineering Technical Skills Required * Experience in Java, C++, python, typescript or a closely related language
- Proficient with shell scripting languages like Bash, AWK, sed, Perl, Python
- Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data
- IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) and config management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, DSC).
- Linux and Windows server hardening & compliance (RMF/STIG).
- Expertise using the Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially when communicating technical information to audiences with varying backgrounds Schedule: M-F; 8-5 Work Location: Colorado Springs, CO Travel: 0-10% Relocation Assistance Available: No Position Contingent Upon Award of Contract: Yes Salary Range - Colorado: $130,000-$165,000 The salary range information is a general guideline only.
