Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support US Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) at Fort Bragg, NC. NETCOM implemented the enterprise Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC), Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution that provides Army users with secure access to classified networks. The CSfC capability is known as Virtual Secure - Remote (ViSR) and supports remote SIPRNet access for up to 2,000 concurrent users initially but could be scalable up to 15,000 concurrent users as the Government continues to onboard users. The successful candidate will lead the Operations and Maintenance activities and provide engineering support to expand the capacity of the Fort Bragg ViSR solution set. The candidate will also provide support to implement the solution architecture in other NETCOM areas of operation. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a System Engineer to operate and maintain the ViSR system.
  • Manage system-wide Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • Responsible for management and oversight of all aspects of the installed system including routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS devices, server hardware, software applications, continuous monitoring, data collection, and the security posture.
  • Develop and implement system topologies and configurations based on operational requirements and objectives.
  • Create architecture diagrams, develop IP Address tables, cable running lists and other system architecture documents.
  • Configure/manage PKI Certificate Authorities for CSfC solutions
  • Have working knowledge of Certificate Authority applications (ISC CertAgent/MS Windows Server/Red Hat Certificate systems)
  • Aid the lead to configure firewalls, Intrusion Prevention/Detection systems, VPN gateways, wireless controllers from various vendors (e.g., Aruba, Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWALL, Juniper)
  • Review organization and IT system security controls and enforcement mechanisms to ensure an effective IA security program including boundary defense, end-point defense, incident detection and response, and key management.
  • Support all Cross-Domain solution operational requirements
  • Support the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications ensuring integration with IA security requirements for the organization.
  • Aid in the development of standardized system documentation, including configuration guides, test procedures, test results, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with other operations departments to design approved infrastructure
  • Take charge of troubleshooting of system outages for Tier 2 and 3 systems until returned to service.
  • Identify and recommend hardware and support solutions based on research and analysis of new technologies, interfacing with customers and vendors.
  • Apply DoD STIGs and IAVAs
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience designing and implementing IT architectures and developing HW/SW configurations in an operations-center environment
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) experience
  • Professional Systems Certification (Computing Environment) (e.g., MCSA, Linux, etc)
  • Qualifying Professional Certification for DoD Cyber Workforce 8570 Baseline IAT Level III
  • Experience working DoD IT environments
  • Working knowledge of DoD RMF processes
  • Experience working in a Microsoft Active Directory Environment
  • Experience implementing Identity Management applications and AAA
  • Must possess a DoD Secret level security clearance
  • AS in IT or Engineering related field + 7 years of IT experience
  • BS Degree in IT or Cyber related field + 5 years of IT experience
