Job description
- Assist in the support and administration of various platforms (VMware vSphere/Dell and HP Servers and workstations).
- Support storage systems (Netapp, AWS, E3) under guidance from senior DT staff.
- Perform routine monitoring, basic maintenance tasks, and health checks.
- Support disaster recovery testing activities as directed.
Incident and Problem Management
- Handle L1/L2 incidents and service requests, following documented procedures.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior staff in a timely manner.
- Assist in incident investigation and post-incident reviews.
- Participate in off-hours support when required (with appropriate support and supervision).
Change and Project Support
- Implement approved changes following AST DT change management processes.
- Assist with infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations.
- Support automation tasks, system documentation, and operational reporting.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow standard operating procedures.
EHS Compliance
- Follow EHS Policies and Guidelines when working at any AST Site.
- Understand eWaste guidelines when decommissioning hardware.
- Advocate with others on the importance of health and safety.
- Collaboration and Learning
- Work closely with senior staff and other technical teams to support operational delivery.
- Actively develop technical skills through training, mentoring, and hands-on experience.
Security and Compliance
- Follow security policies and best practices for both classified and unclassified spaces.
- Assist with patching, access control management, and secure configuration tasks.
- Support vulnerability remediation activities and compliance requirements as directed.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Must have successfully completed an RTX SkillBridge Internship Program
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of virtualization, storage, or backup technologies.
- Exposure to AI technologies, VMware, NetApp, AWS is desirable
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and troubleshoot routine issues.
- Understanding of ITIL concepts (incident, problem, and change management).
- Willingness to learn and develop enterprise infrastructure skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Clear communication and good attention to detail.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

- And More!, The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
