Job description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Top Secret cleared IT Specialist sitting onsite in Washington, DC. This role supports a contract providing IT services to the FBI by delivering reliable, hands on desktop IT support to end users. The position focuses on troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues to ensure end-users can perform their work without disruption.

The role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate with team members on more complex technical issues. Strong customer service skills, sound judgment, and initiative are essential, along with the ability to research issues, follow established procedures, and apply effective solutions.

Typical day-to-day responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and supporting desktop systems, peripherals, business applications, and multiple operating systems.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and support desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software in networked, standalone, classified, and unclassified environments.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues on desktop and portable systems.
  • Provide end users with guidance and instruction on the use of hardware and software.
  • Analyze customer service requests and deliver timely, effective technical solutions.
  • Use trouble ticketing systems to open, update, and close tickets accurately and on time.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades across multiple systems, printers, and peripherals.
  • Prepare IT equipment for reuse, redeployment, or surplus disposition.
  • Support office moves, new builds, and relocations, including equipment disassembly and reinstallation.
  • Provide technical support to users at remote locations as required.
  • Conduct IT audits as assigned, in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit status and progress reports to team leads.
  • Identify, document, and recommend process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with users via phone, electronic methods, and in person.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, squat, twist, reach above shoulder level, crawl under desks, carry equipment, and push or pull carts loaded with IT hardware., Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Education and experience requirement: Bachelor's degree with 1 year of related experience, Associate's degree with 3 years of related experience, or 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Prior end user IT support experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and repairing desktop operating systems, business applications, computer hardware, peripherals, and printers
  • Working knowledge of IT ticketing systems (opening, updating, and closing tickets)
  • Ability to provide in person, desk side IT support in a secure environment
  • Strong customer service, communication skills, and professional demeanor

Benefits & conditions

$20.00/hr to $27.00/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment.
