Venturi, LLC A Chenega Company has a challenging career opportunity for a Network Architecture SME who will support the US Marine Corps on the DIAMNDSS III (US Marine Corps Organic Precision Fires) contract. Decision Support Division (DSD) Integrated Air Missile and Network Defense and Space Support (DIAMNDSS III) delivers system utility analysis and combat development in support of the Warfighter by providing analysis, execution and analysis support of exercises and wargames, and experimentation support, including analysis to United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) in the areas of space, space control, high altitude air and missile defense, and associated cyberspace operations.
The Network Architecture SME initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from project inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs. This individual provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff and provides detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission-critical challenges/issues. The Network Architecture SME consults with the client to define needs or problems and supervises, studies, and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions. This individual supports the Marine Corps Organic Precision Fires Mounted (OPFM). OPFM is a command and control (C2) system that provides precision fire to the LAV (Light Armored Vehicle) where the C2 system controls the launch and flight (semi-autonomous loitering munitions) for precision fires. The Network Architecture SME supports the system integration, hardware requirements, design, and simulation for the C2 system. The system uses custom software that provides video simulation for the test and training for the C2 system.
The Network Architecture SME also plays a critical role in supporting the Marine Corps Target Handoff System (THS). THSv2 is a dismounted Android C2 system for Ground Fires and Digitally Aided CAS (Close Air Support). In addition to the Android development for the C2 system, this individual is responsible for developing and implementing the organic radio (SINCGARS) interface modem (SoftModem) to replace an existing product.
Responsibilities
- Apply subject matter expertise in designing and optimizing wired/wireless network architectures for unmanned systems (UAS, drones).
- Employ system-level, technical expertise, and communications skills to express complex technical problems to the team and the US government customer
- Understand and explain problems to a diverse audience
- Provide expert assistance from problem proposal to situational debugging and resolve problems
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree (STEM preferred) from an accredited college or university
- 10+ years of broad experience, including at least 5+ years of specialized experience in the required area of expertise
- Secret clearance required, * MS STEM degree
- Diverse technical skills in hardware, software, and firmware
- Technical problem-solving expertise and experience
- Ability to analyze and evaluate issues and design, develop, and deliver innovative solutions.
- Patents or patents pending
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possesses extensive academic and professional knowledge in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Has complex experience in computer simulation, client-server architectures, advanced networking techniques and protocols, databases, high-order programming languages, and operating systems
- Can design and develop advanced networking techniques and protocols, database management systems, and programming in high-order languages
- Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a projects inception to the conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
- Provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff
- Can perform detailed analyses, evaluations, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission-critical challenges/issues
- Consults with the client to define needs or problems
- Supervises, studies, and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions
- Has familiarity with DOD and Marine Corps processes and procedures.
- Can work in a high-paced environment while coordinating with multiple organizations and leadership.
- Has proficiency with Microsoft software applications.
- Executes and completes tasks with no supervision.
- Can travel 20-25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Can work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
