Job description
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Operations Technician in Boardman, OR to support mission-critical infrastructure in a large-scale data center environment. This role focuses on advanced server hardware support, network assistance, and facility operations to ensure high availability, security, and operational excellence., * Perform advanced server diagnostics, break-fix repairs, and component replacements.
- Install, configure, and decommission servers and network equipment.
- Monitor and respond to hardware alerts, alarms, and operational events.
- Support network infrastructure via fiber/copper patching and connectivity testing.
- Manage inventory of servers, parts, tools, and consumables.
- Conduct physical checks of power, cooling, cabling, and racks.
- Adhere to strict security, safety, and compliance standards.
- Document work through tickets and operational logs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on troubleshooting and capacity needs.
- Participate in maintenance windows and on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Strong server hardware knowledge and hands-on repair experience.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, cabling, patching).
- Proven troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience with data center infrastructure (racks, PDUs, UPS, airflow).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, SOPs, and change management.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, KVMs, crash carts, and cable testers.
- Strong communication, time management, and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Hyperscale or colocation data center experience.
- Exposure to capacity planning or post-incident analysis.

This is a Contract position based out of Boardman, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
