Job description
We are seeking an experienced Cloud SME (Subject Matter Expert) Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned technology professional with a deep understanding of cloud computing strategies, implementation, and optimization. As a Cloud SME Consultant, you will play a critical role in advising our clients on their cloud journey, ensuring that their business needs are met with scalable and efficient cloud solutions.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Cloud Strategy Development: Collaborate with clients to assess their business needs and develop comprehensive cloud computing strategies that align with their organizational goals.
Solution Design: Design scalable and secure cloud solutions tailored to meet the specific requirements of each client, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
Implementation Oversight: Lead and oversee the implementation of cloud solutions, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with best practices.
Cloud Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize existing cloud environments to enhance performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
Strategic Guidance: Provide expert strategic guidance to clients on cloud adoption, helping them navigate the complexities of cloud technologies and make informed decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with client stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure successful cloud adoption and integration.
Industry Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in cloud computing, and incorporate this knowledge into client engagements.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related field is required. A Bachelor's degree may be substituted by at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in information technology, including at least four (4) years in cloud strategy, cloud transformation leadership, or enterprise cloud adoption initiatives.
Relevant Experience Includes
Leading large-scale cloud migration and transformation projects across hybrid and multi-cloud FedRamp environments.
Advising on cloud strategy, governance, security, and financial optimization.
Deep technical understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and serverless technologies.
Hands-on expertise with all four of the following platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Engaging with senior stakeholders to align technical recommendations with organizational strategy.
Delivering executive-level briefings and transformation roadmaps., ITIL v4 Foundation (or similar) for service management alignment, * Cloud Computing

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $218,200.00.
