Job description
We are seeking an Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician for a position in Ohio. The infrastructure team is responsible for the day-to-day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work, and capacity management. This role involves working in a dynamic environment to support the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks and contributing to the development of automation and scaling processes. This position requires reporting to a site location in the Ohio area, which may include Hilliard, New Albany, or Dublin., * Partner with cable vendors to install, inspect, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure.
- Perform installation and maintenance of copper and fiber cable infrastructure.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Ensure that data center and vendor installations comply with all installation practices.
- Report current status through a ticketing system, status reports, email, and other communication tools.
- Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system and workflows to complete requests and projects.
- Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to execute changes within data centers.
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness.
- Move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks into planned positions.
- Manage, check, and coordinate all materials delivered to the site daily.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess technical aptitude, effective written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability are required. This role requires exercising a high level of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.
Work Environment
- Ability to work on your feet for an 8-hour shift, conducting site walks and installation tasks.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and participate in group lifts for items over 40 pounds.
- Ability to walk job sites, potentially in uneven terrain, and work safely at heights and from ladders.
- This role is in an environment that operates 24/7, with an ability to participate in after-hours support as needed.
- Up to 50% travel within the geographical work area may be required.
