Job description
The GIS Technician will play a crucial role in supporting electric distribution projects and maintaining data integrity. With moderate oversight, the successful candidate will utilize GIS and CAD software to ensure accurate data management for complex and priority projects., * Reference as-builts, work management logs, and other documentation to update GIS data to reflect completed electric distribution construction.
- Identify data inconsistencies and communicate with appropriate resources to provide accurate updates to client systems.
- Obtain and manipulate GIS data at the state and municipality levels.
- Participate and collaborate in meetings with teammates, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Work in an Agile team environment, where collaboration and receptiveness to feedback are essential to meet client standards.
- Complete engineering design work and provide deliverables to the client.
- Assist with storm response work as needed.
Requirements
- Experience with GIS software such as Small World, Esri Suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS, ArcWeb services, ArcGIS Server), or QGIS.
- Experience with CAD software such as Bentley Systems (MicroStation), Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, etc.) is required., * Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to perform both field and office work, with overnight travel possibly required (10-20% travel).
- Ability to work in outdoor environments for field data collection.
- Capability to utilize a personal vehicle.
- Knowledge of Utility Client Standards is preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
