Job description

We are seeking a high-quality, energetic Systems Administrator to support innovative research and development initiatives addressing critical national security challenges. This role operates within the Secure Resilient Systems and Technology group, a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and security architects passionate about solving complex, real-world problems.

You will play a hands-on role across the full R&D lifecycle-supporting developers and researchers, implementing secure systems, and transitioning solutions to DoD and Intelligence Community users., * Provide user-focused desktop and systems support for developers and researchers

  • Serve as first point of contact for technical issues
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support software and services
  • Configure desktops, applications, and development tools
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to solve complex technical problems
  • Recommend new hardware and software technologies
  • Apply and maintain secure system baselines
  • Track system lifecycle, upgrades, and replacements
  • Create and manage administrator and service accounts
  • Automate tasks using scripts and configuration management tools
  • Ensure ongoing security compliance and remediate scan findings
  • Support offline and classified networks and systems
  • Interact with vendors and internal service providers
  • Maintain documentation and system performance tuning
  • Work effectively in a small, agile team environment
  • Communicate findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required), * Ability to collaborate with internal teams (developers, administrators, IT security, data personnel): 8 years
  • DevOps best practices: 5 years
  • Managing or operating containers: 5 years
  • Operating systems (Linux, macOS, Windows): 8 years
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) knowledge: 5 years

Automation & Provisioning

  • Kickstart, RHEL Satellite, or Foreman provisioning automation: 3 years
  • Ansible Automation Platform (Linux systems support): 6 years

Programming & Scripting

  • Ansible, Docker, AWS, CloudFormation, YAML scripting: 6 years
  • Scripting languages (Perl, Python, Shell, PowerShell): 5 years

DevSecOps & CI/CD Tools

  • DevSecOps environments (GitHub, JFrog, Jenkins, GitLab, Fortify, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.): 5 years
