Job description

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/21c) on AIX Unix platforms, including RAC and Grid Infrastructure setups.
  • Perform proactive database monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AWR reports, and Statspack.
  • Implement and maintain backup/recovery strategies with RMAN, including disaster recovery testing and point-in-time recovery on AIX Power systems.
  • Manage AIX-specific tasks such as LPAR configuration, HACMP clustering, file system administration, and kernel tuning for Oracle workloads.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving database, AIX OS, storage (SAN/NAS), and network components; handle SRs with Oracle Support.
  • Ensure database security through user management, auditing, data encryption, and compliance with standards like PCI-DSS or SOX.
  • Collaborate with development, application, and infrastructure teams for capacity planning, schema design, and production deployments.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in AIX systems and a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience to manage high-availability Oracle environments.
