Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Platform SRE to join our team as an Assistant Vice President (AVP) in Tampa. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in building, maintaining, and ensuring the stability and resilience of our Prime Data Platform. This role requires a strong understanding of the Big Data ecosystem, DevOps principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams to drive observability best practices., * Build and Maintain Prime Data Infra Platform:Design, implement, and maintain our critical Prime Data infra Platform, ensuring its performance, scalability, and security.
- Platform Monitoring and Stability:Proactively monitor the Pinot, Trino platform for health, performance, and availability. Implement robust solutions to ensure its stability, resiliency, and continuous operation.
- Define Operating Standards and Processes:Ensure essential operational procedures are followed and actively contribute to defining and refining operating standards, processes, and best practices for the Data infra platform.
- Cross-Organizational Collaboration and Support:Collaborate extensively with various organizational teams to facilitate their onboarding onto the Data platform. Provide technical guidance and review their architectural and technical designs related to Big Data solutions.
Requirements
- Experience with Pinot, Trino:Demonstrated experience with the Pinot, Trino, Kafka, S3, Grafana monitoring stack. understand Spark is a Plus to have.
- Programming Language Proficiency (5-8 years):Demonstrated experience with a programming language such as Java, Python, or TypeScript.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging Expertise:Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, particularly in identifying and resolving issues related to monitoring systems and predicting system bottlenecks.
- SRE and DevOps Experience:Proven experience working as SRE or DevOps teams, with a solid understanding of relevant methodologies and tools.
- CI/CD Familiarity:Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and their application in modern software development and deployment.
- Container Environment Deployment:Experience in building and deploying images into containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Pressure Management and Adaptability:Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and adapt to unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
- Teamwork and Communication Skills:Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences., * Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
