Job description
As a Video Editor in Brand, you'll put your post-production artistry into practice and leave a lasting mark on our brand. You'll join our Creative Studio, collaborating closely with graphic designers, motion artists, copywriters, and a cinematographer/photographer to bring Preply's story to life., We're looking for a seasoned Video Editor with a strong creative eye and technical expertise to elevate our video content and brand. Someone who can own color grading OR audio engineering in our post production process. In this role, you'll share the video post-production process end to end with another editor: editing, collaborating with our motion graphics designers, and delivering polished final outputs. You'll also shape campaign storytelling by editing commercial spots into engaging, channel-specific cuts while preserving core messaging.
- Strategic Thinking: Understanding of how video ads fit into broader business objectives and marketing strategies.
- Quality Control: Ensure all content is clear, compelling, and free of grammatical errors, while maintaining consistency with brand voice and guidelines.
- Create Engaging Visual Content: Develop compelling videos for various media platforms including digital media and social media advertising
- Post-Production: Maintain the integrity of the color grading or audio mastering, and motion graphic renders to deliver the final outputs for our video assets. Effectively editing our main campaign spots into shorter versions. Reformatting said spots for all other formats; including reformatting motion renders and localization for other language markets.
- Technical Execution: Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, etc.) to produce high-quality animations and visual effects, ensuring consistency and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Cinema, Videography, Motion Design, Visual Communications, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience working as an Editor in a marketing or branding role, preferably in a digital-first environment.
- 2+ years experience with Motion Graphics. Enough comfort to change and reformat designs created by the motion graphics team as well as comfort in using templatized motion graphics designs on your own.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Audition) and Figma is a good plus. Other editing software is appreciated.
- Emerging technologies and AI tools knowledge is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of rhythm, color grading and sound mixing, motion principles, storytelling and narrative, and layout techniques.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to translate complex concepts into visually compelling videos.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Having a team oriented mindset but still able to work autonomously throughout projects
- Passion for new technologies and digital innovation, with a demonstrated interest in online advertising and digital marketing trends.
- Experience working in the education or technology sector is a plus.
- Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of videography and motion projects.
