Senior System Engineer

We're supporting a specialist consultancy delivering cutting-edge programmes across the UK Defence and National Security space. They're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the delivery of complex, mission-critical systems across secure environments.

This is a high-impact role where you'll bridge strategy and engineering - shaping solutions that integrate cloud, data, and AI technologies into secure, safety-critical systems.

Senior Systems Engineer - Key Responsibilities

• Leading end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle (V-Model / CADMID)
• Providing technical oversight across architecture, integration, and delivery
• Supporting the transition from legacy systems to cloud-native solutions
• Working closely with senior stakeholders across government and defence
• Driving engineering governance, assurance, and compliance
• Supporting integration of AI/ML and data-driven platforms in secure environments

• Must hold live and active Enhanced DV clearance (DV considered)
• Strong background in Systems Engineering within defence / secure environments
• Proven experience across the full V-Lifecycle (requirements integration delivery)
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and modern delivery practices
• Familiarity with MODAF / TOGAF or similar architecture frameworks
• Strong understanding of Defence standards, ISO frameworks, and governance
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders (MOD, DE&S, government bodies)

Nice to have:

• Experience with AI / Machine Learning systems
• Exposure to Big Data platforms and analytics environments
• Experience working across hybrid cloud architectures
• Background in Scaled Agile (SAFe) or hybrid delivery models

Please note that all applicants must hold live and active UK eDV clearance given the secure nature of the organisation. In some cases DV clearance may be acceptable.
