Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact within a premier community? Join Fairfax County's award-winning Wastewater Management Team as the Business Intelligence Lead for the Wastewater Collection Division.
This position works within Fairfax County's Wastewater Collection Division (WCD) to support its life cycle asset management practice. This role champions development and maintenance of business workflows, insights, analytics dashboards and serve as a lead liaison for the Division's technology projects working directly with IT organizations. Under the general supervision of the division director, the position's primary functions are listed below:

Lead in capturing, updating, and managing business process workflows and SOPs.

Develop, manage, and maintain data dashboards.

Analyze data for gaps, transformation, and trends identification.

Work with all branches to identify data insights and opportunities for business improvements.

Develop, conduct, and manage tech training in coordination with branches.
-
Manage, lead, and/or serve as liaison for technology transformation projects in coordination with department and county IT groups.
Requirements

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and coursework in analytics, biosystematics, biology, information architecture, engineering, library science, statistics, sociology, demographics, and/or marketing, Plus five years analysis of data and information experience in an academic, data administration, or business data analytics environment that involves using data modeling, database consolidation, ad hoc query, or business intelligence tools, relational databases, metadata, XML schema design, and/or taxonomy.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
A valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong business technology skills and understanding (3+ years)

Experience with work order management systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to walk, negotiate or traverse property sites that may be undergoing construction or having terrain that is not level. Ability to lift up to 15 - 20 pounds. Ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed. While the position is generally sedentary, it requires the ability to sit, stand while using computers during most of daily working hours.
