Job description
An employer based in Ohio is looking for a Solutions Engineer to join their growing customer-facing team to help take customer demand and turn it into wins. This is a customer-facing role for someone who combines systems engineering credibility with shaping solutions, building proposals, and delivering executive briefings that move opportunities from pipeline to contract. This person will own the company's technical side of business development, from early customer discovery and needs analysis through proposal strategy, and post-award transition. They will lead pre-sales solutioning, conduct competitive intelligence and market assessments across the defense digital engineering landscape, and partner with Business Development to qualify opportunities. This person will sit specifically within the USSF Business Unit product portfolio, so knowledge of the push towards open architectures, authoritative engineering data, and model-based practices is crucial.
Requirements
This is a full-time permanent position that is able to sit remote, but does require 25-50% travel. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000 annually. Compensation will be determined in partnership with the Hiring Manager and may vary based on factors such as contract and labor category alignment, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications or licenses, and geographic location., Active DOD Secret clearance, or ability to obtain
Experience shaping requirements or RFPs through pre-RFP customer engagement, white papers, or industry day participation.
Experience in a pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical BD role at a defense software, platform, or product company
Direct experience implementing or supporting DoD digital engineering initiatives, MBSE workflows, or enterprise data integration efforts
Familiarity with MOSA/WOSA principles, OMS/UCI standards, or open-architecture design patterns as applied to Air Force weapon systems
Hands-on experience with MBSE tools (Cameo, Rhapsody, or equivalent) or enterprise PLM/ALM platforms (Teamcenter, Windchill, or equivalent)
