Job description
We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to manage, support, and enhance our network infrastructure across firewalls, VPNs, switching, routing, wireless, WAN connectivity, and network security. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, ownership of configuration changes, and the ability to maintain a secure, resilient, and high-performing network environment.
The ideal candidate will proactively monitor alerts, maintain accurate documentation, support business continuity, and serve as the senior escalation point for network-related incidents.
Key ResponsibilitiesCore Network Engineering
- Administer and support firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
- Manage site-to-site VPNs, remote access VPNs, NAT, VLANs, ACLs, and routing.
- Troubleshoot network performance, packet flow, latency, DNS, DHCP, firewall, and connectivity issues.
- Support LAN/WAN environments, branch connectivity, ISP coordination, and failover.
- Monitor network health, alerts, logs, and security events.
- Maintain firewall policies, VPN configurations, and network documentation.
- Support network security initiatives including segmentation, least access, logging, and rule review.
- Assist with network upgrades, redesigns, standardization, and lifecycle planning.
- Coordinate with system administrators and vendors on infrastructure dependencies.
- Serve as the escalation point for network-related incidents and root cause analysis.

- Develop, expand, and enhance the networking environment to ensure performance, resilience, and security.
- Architect and recommend network designs aligned with business requirements.
- Define requirements, evaluate, and manage changes to the networking infrastructure.
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for all network components.
- Monitor vendor alerts regarding functionality, security, or performance issues.
- Monitor vulnerability findings related to networking equipment and take corrective action.
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, patching, and tuning of network systems.
- Document and maintain accurate configuration information and network diagrams.
- Establish and adjust network configurations to support firm initiatives.
- Assist users and other IT teams with network-related issues and status reporting.
- Support initiatives and special projects across IT as required.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years of hands-on network engineering experience.
- Strong experience with firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP.
- Strong troubleshooting experience in production environments.
- Experience with enterprise firewall platforms such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, SonicWall, Sophos, Cisco, or similar.
- Experience with wireless and branch connectivity.
- Experience with monitoring tools and log analysis.
- Experience documenting topology, standards, and change history.
- Ability to diagnose complex issues across network, systems, and connectivity layers.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with SD-WAN.
- Experience with cloud networking in Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with security controls, segmentation, MFA/VPN integrations, and audit readiness.
- Experience with scripting or automation for network operations.
- Experience supporting multi-site or 24/7 business environments.
