Information Technology System Administrator

Akkodis is seeking an IT System Administrator for a Contract with a client in Findlay, OH or San Antonio, TX (Hybrid). We're looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator / IT Platforms Engineer with strong expertise in systems administration, infrastructure management, and cloud environments (Azure). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mission-critical platforms, supporting backups, monitoring, and lifecycle management, while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams., * Under general direction, responsible for activities related to systems administration

• Ensures long-term requirements of Operational Insights & Visualization - Edge Product Team and included in the overall Refining IT planning of the department

• Responsible for the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of mission-critical IT platforms across various environments. *, * Server Infrastructure - Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V/Nutanix, storage systems - Designs scalable and resilient infrastructure - Deploys and supports infrastructure

• Backups and Recovery - Backup solutions (Rubrik, DD, Cristie), snapshots, replication, DR testing, failover/failback, RPO/RTO - Designs backup architecture, leads DR strategy, validates failover and resiliency - Execute backups, support restores, participate in DR tests

• Observability - Monitoring tools, logging systems - Defines SLAs/SLOs and monitoring strategy - Responds to alerts

• Business Alignment - Requirements gathering, documentation - Drives solutions aligned to business -Understands requirements

• Leadership - Mentorship, communication - Leads and takes initiative - Works independently

• Program Ownership - Owning outcomes across multiple platforms, not just delivering technology, but ensuring it drives business value at scale - Builds and drives full technology programs - Supports projects

• Architecture - System design, diagrams, patterns - Co-creates architecture standards with Refining Architects - Implements designs

• Containers - Docker, Kubernetes, Containers - Designs and manages clusters - Requests containers

• Azure Cloud - Azure (VMs, Functions, Storage, Services) - Designs hybrid cloud Solutions - Requests cloud resources

• Integration - REST APIs, MQTT, Webhooks - Designs event-driven architectures - Integrates systems

• Data - Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, time-series data - Designs data flow and transformation - Supports pipelines

• Automation - Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform - Builds automation - Writes scripts

• Vendor Integration - SaaS platforms, APIs, vendor tools - Leads PoCs and integrations - Works with vendors

• IoT / LoRaWAN, gateways, LNS, MQTT - Owns architecture and scaling - Supports onboarding and troubleshooting

• Drone Systems - RTSP, WebRTC, video streaming, pLTE - Architects video and drone platforms - Supports connectivity and ops

• Cybersecurity - IAM, network segmentation, Zero Trust Designs secure systems - Applies controlsa

• Experience in systems administration, or a similar role.
• Knowledge of server infrastructure, backups and recovery, monitoring systems, Cloud engineering to include Azure environments, containerization, designs, and good communicator.
• Proficiency in managing and maintaining core infrastructure, hardware, and applications lifecycles, etc.

Pay Range: $47-$50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
