Job description
- Install, configure, and maintain low-voltage cabling (Cat3, Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic).
- Perform network equipment installation (switches, routers, firewalls, IP phones, Wi-Fi systems).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cabling and network infrastructure issues.
- Execute Move/Add/Change (MAC) requests within service levels.
- Provide hardware break-fix services and optimize switch ports/network closets.
- Conduct site surveys, carrier circuit testing, and preventive maintenance.
- Document work orders, time/materials, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Support emergency response, on-call rotations, and weekend project work as needed.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (able to carry 6-foot ladder).
- 5+ years of experience in data communications.
- Proficiency in cabling tools, cable/fiber testers, and patching processes.
- Knowledge of Cisco phones, switches, routers, and LAN/WAN fundamentals.
- Experience working in communications closets and with 66/110 Block cross-connects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain technical issues clearly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Office 365 (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting.
- Familiarity with UPS systems, Wi-Fi infrastructure, and wireless troubleshooting.
- Prior field dispatch or mobile technician experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.

Pay Range*: Between $26 - $29 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
