Job description
Design and implement LES software for spray combustion and multi-regime reactive flows

Implement chemical mechanism reduction and acceleration strategies

Advance computational geometry kernels underpinning adaptive unstructured mesh generation

Develop dynamic load-balancing schemes for complex multiphysics simulations
-
GPU-ify performance-critical kernels using C/C++, MPI, CUDA/HIP
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation capabilities into broader engineering workflows
Requirements
PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field

Proven R&D experience developing CFD/LES codes for reactive and/or multiphase flows

Strong background in LES combustion modeling, chemical kinetics / mechanism reduction, and numerical analysis

Demonstrated experience with adaptive mesh refinement and unstructured-grid methods
-
Proficiency in C/C++, MPI, and GPU programming (CUDA/HIP)
-
Experience profiling and tuning HPC codes on leadership-class systems
-
Familiarity with Euler-Lagrange spray modeling, atomization, and combustion validation

Publication record in top venues

The annual salary range for California is $114,800 to $213,200. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure.
