Job description

Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections and cabling

Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of the network.

Install and upgrade computers and peripherals throughout the district.

Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs.

Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement.

Provide on-site assistance to campus staff with technology problems and questions.

Maintain computers in campus lab(s) and classrooms and arrange for needed repairs.

Perform upgrades to software and hardware.

Assist with the organization and distribution of technology materials for classroom use.

Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, and computer materials.

Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.

Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
Requirements
BSc/BA in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of design, connections, cabling and troubleshooting computer networks Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Ability to install, maintain, and repair network components, computers and peripherals
Ability to install and maintain network cables and hardware
Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs
Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience:
Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing networks, computers and peripherals, Climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test equipment; frequent district wide travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. May be required to be on-call 24 hours a day.
