Job description
Insight Global is seeking an Integration Platform Engineer to design, build, and support secure, scalable integration and messaging platforms as part of a major AWS migration and modernization effort. This role focuses on API management, event-driven architecture, and messaging systems, enabling application teams through automation, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native patterns while ensuring compliance with CJIS, COV, and FBI security standards. The pay range for this role is $50-$55/hr., * Build and operate integration platforms including API gateways, messaging systems, and event streaming services (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon MQ, MSK)
- Modernize legacy integrations into API-based and event-driven architectures
- Implement secure service-to-service communication (mTLS, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, Zero Trust)
- Manage containerized integration workloads across ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes
- Develop and maintain API lifecycle capabilities (routing, throttling, versioning, validation)
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and cross-region resilience
- Build and maintain IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
- Automate provisioning of integration components (queues, topics, APIs, IAM roles)
- Enable self-service integration capabilities for application teams
- Implement observability pipelines (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting)
- Support SRE practices and platform reliability improvements
- Leverage automation and AI-driven insights to optimize performance and incident response
Requirements
- Experience operating messaging and integration platforms (Kafka, SQS, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, etc.)
- Experience with API gateways and microservice communication patterns
- Strong proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
- Experience with container platforms (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and Zero Trust (mTLS, OAuth2/OIDC)
- Experience with observability in distributed systems
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (CJIS, NIST, PCI, etc.)
- Experience supporting application teams via integration or platform services
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Broad AWS services experience across networking, security, and integration tooling
- Experience migrating legacy middleware integrations to API/event-driven models
- Knowledge of schema registries, event versioning, and contract testing
- Experience with AWS Service Catalog, AFT, or similar provisioning tools
- Background in SRE, platform operations, or cluster management
- Relevant certifications (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Kafka, Security+)
