Job description
As a Cloud Engineer supporting the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Treasury Web Application Infrastructure (TWAI) program, you play a hands-on role in migrating and supporting mission-critical web application workloads in secure cloud environments. Your work ensures systems meet strict security, compliance, and performance requirements while enabling reliable and scalable operations across Treasury systems.

What You Will Do
You will support cloud engineering and migration efforts by:
- Designing and implementing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions within Azure Government environments
- Leading and executing cloud migration efforts for sensitive workloads, ensuring compliance and security throughout
- Building and managing infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and ARM templates
- Supporting containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure Kubernetes Service
- Enhancing cloud management platforms by evaluating performance and implementing improvements
- Applying DevOps practices and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and JIRA
- Providing guidance to stakeholders and engineering teams on cloud architecture, security, and cost optimization
- Participating in technical reviews to ensure solutions meet operational and security requirements
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation and staying current with emerging cloud technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience required
- Extensive experience in cloud engineering with a focus on Azure Government environments required, * Active Secret clearance

- Extensive experience in cloud engineering with a focus on Azure Government environments
- Architect-level certification such as Azure Solutions Architect
- Security certification such as Security+ or equivalent aligned to IAT Level II or III
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies
- Knowledge of risk management processes and cybersecurity principles
- Experience designing scalable, highly available cloud architectures
- Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with cloud service models including SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS across public, private, and hybrid environments
