Job description
We are looking for a driven Software Engineer who is ready to own meaningful product features end-to-end - from architecture decisions to production deployment. This is not a box-checking role. You will collaborate cross-functionally, push code that matters, and directly influence how millions of users experience our platform. Whether you come from a traditional engineering background or transitioned into tech from military service, we care about how you think and what you ship - not where you started. WHAT YOU''LL DO Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in a distributed cloud environment Contribute to frontend React components and own full-stack features with a product mindset Participate in architecture reviews, write technical design docs, and mentor junior engineers Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks - system-level debugging is a core muscle here Collaborate with product managers and designers in an agile sprint cycle Champion code quality through thorough reviews, unit tests, and CI/CD best practices Be on a lightweight on-call rotation and respond to production incidents with calm and precision
Requirements
We actively recruit veterans and military-connected candidates. Your service has built skills that thrive here - systems thinking, mission focus, working under pressure, and leading teams when it counts. We provide a structured onboarding program and a veteran employee resource group (ERG) to support your transition., 3-8+ years of software engineering experience (including equivalent military technical roles) Proficiency in one or more of: Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or C++ Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS / Google Cloud Platform / Azure) Experience with databases - relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis, DynamoDB) Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar container orchestration tools Strong communication skills - you can explain a technical tradeoff to a non-engineer clearly A bias for action: you''d rather ship and iterate than wait for perfect conditions MILITARY EXPERIENCE WE VALUE These MOS / AFSC / ratings map well to this role - but we evaluate all veteran applicants on transferable skills, not titles alone., Active or adjudicatable security clearance (Secret / TS-SCI) Experience with DevSecOps, STIG compliance, or FedRAMP environments Prior leadership of a technical team, even informally Open-source contributions or a side project you are proud of
