From a cloud foundations perspective, the TPM needs a strong conceptual understanding of modern cloud platforms, particularly within an AWS-first environment. This includes familiarity with core AWS and cloud-native concepts such as Kubernetes (EKS), managed cloud services, and the idea of reusable infrastructure building blocks. They do not need to design or operate these systems, but they must understand how they fit together well enough to guide discussions, prioritize capabilities, and evaluate tradeoffs.
