Are you a Design Engineer with control panel and DraftSight experience, looking to develop your skills further with structured PLC training, while increasing your earnings through overtime within a tight-knit engineering team working on a wide range of bespoke projects?
This well-established UK engineering company designs and builds bespoke electrical control and automation systems for industrial applications. Supplying into manufacturing, process, and infrastructure sectors, they deliver high-quality control panels incorporating PLCs, motor control, and automation technology. Projects range from one-off builds to complex, multi-panel systems supporting large-scale operations. Known for technical expertise and consistent delivery, the business continues to grow across a diverse industrial client base.
In this role, you will support the design and delivery of electrical control panel projects, producing schematics and documentation using Draftsight while ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards. You will be involved across the project lifecycle, from design through to testing and commissioning, working closely with workshop teams and stakeholders. The company will provide training and development in PLC systems, giving you the opportunity to expand your automation skillset.
This role would suit a Design Engineer with control panel and EPLAN experience, looking to build on their skills and gain PLC training within a supportive, close-knit team.
The Role:
- Design control panels to customer and industry standards
- Produce schematics and documentation using EPLAN or DraftSight
- Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Provide technical support across the wider business
- Undertake training and development in PLC systems, Control, Panel, Design, Engineer, Electrical, EPLAN, DraftSight, Panels, MCC, Schematics, Panel Design, Automation, PLC, Wiring, Diagrams, Renewables, Newbury, Reading, Berkshire, Basingstoke
Requirements
- Experience as a Control Panel Design Engineer
- Experience with EPLAN Electric P8 or similar CAD software
- Understanding of electrical systems, components, and circuits
- Keen to develop PLC and automation knowledge
