Join the PayPal Shopping Team as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, where you will play a key role in building secure, high-performing applications & features - owning the process from architecture and system design through implementation, launch, and ongoing operations.
You'll deliver impactful features, respond to customer feedback, ensure compliance, and collaborate closely with Product in an agile environment to bring ideas from concept to release.
You'll also contribute to code reviews, share knowledge across teams within PayPal & Honey, and foster transparency and efficiency in delivery. Our team culture emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, mentorship, and collective success., * Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.
- Advises immediate management on project-level issues
- Guides junior engineers
- Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
- Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions, The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is: Primary Location | Pay Range: San Jose, California | ($143,500.00 - $212,850.00 Annually) Additional Location(s) | Pay Range: No other locations are assigned to this requisition currently. Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable. Requirements
Do you have experience in UX design?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js (Golang experience is a plus)
- React (UI/UX) experience preferred.
- GraphQL and REST API development experience preferred.
- Cloud platform experience (GCP, AWS, etc.) preferred
- Solid foundation in data structures & algorithms, error handling, and debugging
- Proven experience creating automated unit, integration, and functional test suites.
- Background working with large-scale, distributed, high-availability systems
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CircleCI, Harness and Git
- SQL and NoSQL database knowledge helpful
- Experience working with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) a plus
