Job description
We are seeking motivated Entry-Level Data Center Cabling Technicians to support large-scale data center operations across Northern Virginia. This role provides exposure to multiple technical functions within a data center environment, including structured cabling, fiber installation, racking/stacking, and eventually basic networking tasks as experience grows. Ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in data center infrastructure., Structured Cabling & Fiber
- Interpret Cable Maps & Labels: Read and understand cable maps, labeling standards, and documentation to ensure correct routing and installation.
- Fiber Installation: Pull, route, stage, and dress fiber trunks (144-count and 288-count) and install/manage patch cords.
- Cable Dressing & Pathway Management: Properly dress, secure, and route cabling following site standards, including basket tray, fiber runner, and other pathway systems.
Rack & Stack / Data Center Hardware
- Install, secure, and organize server and network equipment in racks and cabinets.
- Follow industry and site standards to ensure clean, structured, and compliant rack builds.
- Assist with server/rack deployment activities across multiple data center locations.
General Data Center Support
- Move between multiple job sites depending on daily operational needs.
- Support both post-construction ISP work and live data center environments.
- Follow all technical documentation, standards, and quality expectations.
Requirements
- 6+ months of experience in data center cabling or commercial structured cabling.
- Experience working with fiber installation, including large-count trunks and patching.
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation and labeling standards.
- Familiarity with data center or telecom environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional, high-quality workmanship.
- Ability and willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as needed.
- Comfortable traveling between multiple NOVA job sites.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Exposure to server hardware, racks, and network equipment installations.
- Interest in learning networking fundamentals as career progresses.
- Experience in post-construction environments or ISP backbone work.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chantilly, VA. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
