Job description
Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Ideal candidates will be able to report to one of our Pulse Point locations in Lake Mary, FL, St. Louis, MO, Richmond, VA, Roanoke, VA, or Atlanta, GA. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Date Warehouse Consultant is responsible for partnering with internal and external business clients and IT to fulfill information needs and support business decisions.
How you will make an impact:
- Maintains information policies and procedures to support current and future data information needs.
- Ensures proper data definitions, ownership, use, and integrity of data.
- Collaborates with IT resources on the creation and maintenance of the content of the data warehouse.
- Establishes and maintains excellent knowledge of data warehouse data structure design, definitions, capabilities, programming languages, and data integrity issues.
- Completes metadata assessment and reviews feedback to determine changes needed.
- Ensures that data definitions are clear and current and communicates changes to data definitions to all users.
- Collaborates with IT resources and data owners to define business objectives and definitions for databases including business rules, sources, purge archive criteria, and reload schedule.
- Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
- Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
- Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in data analysis and reporting, formulating actionable recommendations and providing guidance to other data analysts.
- Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as develops ad hoc reports to address emerging business questions and priorities.
- Translates complex business issues into diagnostic and/or tracking data solutions that convert business requirements into actionable decision support tools.
- Identifies trends, patterns, and outliers in large and complex datasets to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Provides analytic consultation to business partners, leadership, and external customers to support performance improvement initiatives.
- Makes data-driven recommendations based on analysis and clearly communicates findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensures data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across reporting solutions and analytic outputs.
- Supports a higher level of complexity in data analysis and reporting, requiring advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and independent judgment.
- Provide the ethical handling and security of sensitive, private, and proprietary healthcare data sets.
Requirements
Requires a BA/BS degree in related field and a minimum of 6 years' experience in data analysis, data modeling, and working with automated data warehouse systems; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Experience with programming languages and various statistical programs highly preferred.
- General knowledge of major components of managed care operations highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, PC skills, and oral and written communication skills highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and plan large-scale projects highly preferred.
- Experience presenting technical subject matters to non-technical audiences highly preferred.
- Experience in navigating new data models (both documented and undocumented) highly preferred.
- Ability to learn new subject matter and document effectively for broader team knowledge/use highly preferred.
- Professionalism, positivity, and being solution-oriented in communications and collaborations inside and outside of the team highly preferred.
- Ability to train and mentor junior team members in advanced SQL query-writing and team standard operating procedures preferred.
- Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools, statistical software, and database best practices highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Amazon RedShift, Snowflake, Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent database software preferred.
- Familiarity with ETL coding via Python, or ETL software such as Microsoft SSIS, Informatica, or Talend preferred.
- Experience with SQL server installation, configuration, optimization, and maintenance preferred.
- Ability to manipulate large sets of data preferred.
