Job description
Seeking a skilled Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Developer to support the development, customization, and maintenance of the New York City Department Of Transportation (NYC DOT) Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM system. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing CRM solutions, troubleshooting and resolving defects, integrating the system with various asset management applications and maintaining the agency's public facing web form that interacts with the CRM application.
The selected candidate should have a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience with security tools and Microsoft-based environments. Their task will include but will not be limited to the followings:
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents across enterprise systems, including CRM platforms and integrated applications.
- Develop a new Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) application for the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, Diversity and Inclusion to manage Reasonable Accommodation (RA) requests for disabilities, religious observance, and other legally protected needs under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Investigate anomalous system and network activity to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, or unauthorized access.
- Support the secure development and deployment of applications, ensuring adherence to security best practices and standards.
- Assist in vulnerability management efforts, including scanning, reporting, and remediation tracking.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure secure configurations and integrations (e.g., APIs, cloud services, and web applications).
- Help maintain and secure public-facing web applications and forms, ensuring protection against common web-based threats.
- Contribute to incident response activities, including documentation, containment, and remediation.
- Assist in developing and tuning detection rules, alerts, and security monitoring use cases.
- Support identity and access management processes, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
- Document security procedures, incident reports, and technical findings.
- Maintain the Agency's public facing web form that integrate with the CRM 365 system, enabling smooth data entry and retrieval from the portal or website.
- Design and develop plugins, workflows, and custom entities to enhance CRM functionality.
- Build and maintain web applications tied to Dynamics 365 using C#, ASP.NET (Core and MVC), JavaScript, HTML, and CSS., New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
Requirements
Candidate must be serving permanently in the title or be reachable on the civil service list., 1. A baccalaureate degree, from an accredited college including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or

A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and three years of satisfactory experience in any of the areas described in "1" above; or

Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2", above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in "2" above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. In addition, twenty-four (24) credits from an accredited college or graduate school in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or a certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming from an accredited technical school (post high school), may be substituted for one year of experience. Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management. - Familiarity with Microsoft environments, including Azure and Microsoft 365 security tools. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Understanding of secure coding principles and common vulnerabilities (e.g., Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top 10). - Proficiency in creating applications using Microsoft PowerPages (canvas and model-driven apps). - Knowledge of database management, data migration techniques, and data integrity best practices. - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with business users to understand and meet their needs. - Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
