It's about time! The new Temporal API in JavaScript

What this session covers
Anyone who has ever worked with dates in JavaScript knows the truth: the Date API is a nightmare. For far too long, however, it was our only native option for managing date and time objects.
That era is finally coming to an end with the arrival of the Temporal API. With Firefox 139 leading the charge in May 2025 and Chrome 144 following suit in January 2026, the path to widespread adoption is now wide open.
In this session, we will explore why a replacement for the legacy Date class is desperately needed, how Temporal came to be this replacement, and how to use it to reliably work with datetimes without third-party libraries such as Moment or Luxon.
