Application Solutions Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced Application Solutions Architect to join a leading enterprise transportation and logistics organization. This individual will play a key role in defining, modernizing, and governing enterprise application architecture while partnering closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable, cloud-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on Java development expertise with strong architectural leadership and is comfortable making practical technology decisions that balance business objectives, delivery timelines, and technical excellence., · Lead application architecture initiatives across enterprise projects

· Partner with development teams to design scalable, secure, and maintainable applications

· Conduct architecture reviews and present solutions to technical review boards and leadership

· Define and enforce architecture standards, governance, and reusable patterns

· Develop Proofs of Concept (POCs) to evaluate technologies and demonstrate business value

· Guide engineering teams on architectural best practices

· Ensure appropriate technology selection for business requirements

· Support modernization initiatives using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and container platforms

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the organization’’s application architecture practice

· 10+ years of Java application development experience using Java 17-21 and Spring Framework/Spring Boot

· 3+ years of experience as an Application Architect or Solution Architect

· Strong experience designing Microservices Architecture

· Experience building and integrating REST APIs

· Hands-on experience with Containerization technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShift

· Strong understanding of horizontal and vertical application scaling

· Experience applying enterprise architecture patterns and best practices

· Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

· Proven experience making architecture trade-off decisions involving cost, timelines, performance, and maintainability

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

· Recent hands-on experience with Java and modern application architecture

Preferred Qualifications

· OpenShift

· Python

· Custom application design experience

· Experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace

· Enterprise-scale application modernization experience
