Job description
Innovar Group is seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager to support large-scale data center construction projects in Abilene, Texas. This is a direct hire opportunity for a hands-on construction leader who can manage field execution, coordinate trades, drive schedule performance, and support the successful delivery of complex mission-critical facilities., * Lead daily field construction activities for large-scale data center builds.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field teams, project managers, engineering, commissioning, and client stakeholders.
- Monitor construction progress, identify constraints, and drive issue resolution to keep work moving.
- Support schedule execution, field planning, sequencing, and look-ahead coordination.
- Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in alignment with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Track field progress, risks, manpower needs, materials, equipment, and upcoming milestones.
- Participate in field meetings and communicate priorities, updates, and action items to project teams.
- Partner with MEP, electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and commissioning teams to support successful project delivery.
- Maintain strong documentation, reporting, and communication around field activities.
- Support inspections, punch list, turnover, and commissioning readiness as needed.
- Promote accountability, safety, quality, and productivity across assigned scopes of work.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience leading construction activities in data center, mission-critical, industrial, advanced manufacturing, or other complex technical construction environments. This role requires someone who can operate with urgency, communicate clearly, and keep field teams aligned in a fast-paced project environment., * Experience in field construction management, construction supervision, superintendent, project management, or similar construction leadership role.
- Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, advanced manufacturing, or large commercial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of field execution, trade coordination, construction sequencing, schedule management, and quality control.
- Ability to coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in the field.
- Ability to manage priorities, identify risks, and drive follow-through.
- Commitment to safety, quality, schedule, and team accountability.
- Ability to work onsite in Abilene, TX.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct data center construction experience.
- Experience supporting hyperscale or multi-building campus projects.
- Familiarity with MEP systems, electrical distribution, critical power, cooling systems, telecom, fiber, structured cabling, or commissioning readiness.
- Experience working in high-availability environments where uptime, reliability, and precision execution are critical.
- Prior experience supporting project turnover, closeout, or commissioning coordination.
