Job description
Seeking qualified professionals to support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Aviation safety is a collaborative government-industry initiative that integrates multiple safety databases to proactively detect hazards, monitor known risks, and evaluate safety mitigations across the National Airspace System., * Analyzing functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities
- Developing block diagrams and logic flow charts
- Translating detailed designs into computer software
- Testing, debugging, and refining computer software to produce the required product
- Preparing required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation o Enhancing software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency
- Providing technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met
- Collaboratively working with team leaders and members, and industry stakeholders engaged in the analysis and study of complex aviation technical and operational issues.
Requirements
- Senior II - Bachelor’s degree in Information systems, business systems, management information systems, engineering, math and Science degreed required and 15 (fifteen) years of direct experience with the integration of design, implementation and operation of data integration projects
- Senior I - Bachelor’s degree in Information systems, business systems, management information systems, engineering, math and Science degreed required and 8 (Eight) years of direct experience with the integration of design, implementation and operation of data integration projects
- Experience implementing aviation safety data/information systems, as well as direct experience with the development and operation of complex database environments hosting multiple databases - more than twenty-five (25)
- Experience with the implementation of on-line metadata engines, implementing Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) applications, and re-engineering of legacy database systems.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Certification as a project management professional (PMP) or Agile Scrum master
