Job description

The Desktop Support Technician provides advanced in-person end user support for Fox Pest Control employees, serving as a point of escalation from the helpdesk. This role delivers hands-on technical support across Fox’s hardware, software, and physical workspace environments, with a focus on timely resolution and clear communication throughout the lifecycle of each request.

Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of a Desktop Support Technician:

  • Primarily support end users in-office, with secondary support for remote users as needed.
  • Resolve escalated end user issues across Fox’s business applications.
  • Coordinate hardware lifecycle activities, including asset tracking, inventory, and equipment requests.
  • Execute onboarding and offboarding procedures.
  • Conduct routine software, license, and user audits.
  • Provide support for AV and conference room technology.
  • Support end user connectivity, access, and licensing requests.
  • Train end users and maintain knowledge base documentation.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with end users throughout each request.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of end user technical support experience.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware and mobile device support.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with user account, access, and license management.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and knowledge base documentation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) a plus. *

  • Preferred Skills: *

  • Prior experience in a Level 2 or escalation support role
  • Experience supporting a distributed or field-based workforce
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and CRM platforms, + Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, or reaching to install or service equipment.
  • Reliable on-site presence for hardware, AV, and workspace support.

  • Pay Range $24 - $28 per hour
