Junior Software Engineer

Junior Full-stack Developer, Logistics Engineering Are you eager to launch your career building technology that powers a global delivery network? The Courier Onboarding team plays a critical role in this mission. Courier Onboarding is the front-door for new applicants around the globe interested in joining JET’s courier network. These first experiences we provide to prospective couriers are crucial to guide them through the onboarding process and start delivering as a part of JET’s courier network.

As a Junior Full-stack Developer on our team, you will work closely with experienced engineers to develop, test, and deploy features across the entire application stack. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern backend (Java/Quarkus/Spring) and frontend (React) technologies in a high-volume, distributed microservices environment. You will be supported in learning best practices in design, coding, and system operation.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of scalable, robust, and performant backend services using Java (or similar JVM languages).
• Implement user interfaces and front-end features using modern JavaScript frameworks, primarily React.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and the Product team to understand requirements and translate them into well-structured, maintainable code.
• Participate actively in code reviews, applying constructive feedback to improve code quality and learn from peers.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the quality and reliability of developed features.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic production issues under the guidance of senior team members.
• Contribute to the enhancement of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Learn and apply fundamental software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices for building distributed systems.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, assisting with data modeling and query development.

Do you have experience in TypeScript?, * Professional experience in software development (internships, academic projects, or personal projects are relevant).

• Solid foundational knowledge in an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java (or a strong desire to learn it quickly), coupled with basic understanding of web frameworks like Spring Boot or similar.
• Basic experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern front-end library/framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Familiarity with foundational web technologies (HTML5, CSS3).
• Understanding of fundamental database concepts (SQL, relational databases) and experience with writing basic queries.
• Exposure to microservices architecture concepts and RESTful API principles is a plus.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
• A high degree of curiosity, a proactive attitude toward learning new technologies, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to ask questions and seek guidance.
• Commitment to writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is a bonus.
